Shaun currently studies Composition under Larry Goves at the RNCM, having recently graduated from Salford University with First Class Honours, under the tutelage of Professor Alan Williams. Shaun oversees creative elements of Kinetic, by seeking out compositional and performing talent in Manchester and liaising with participants.
Aimer is a recent University of Salford graduate, gaining First Class Honours for her studies in Vocal Performance and Arts Administration. As a vocalist she performs in various styles including pop, rock, classical, jazz and Latin. Her role in Kinetic is relations-based, corresponding with venues, advertising platforms, and others.
We are proud to present our upcoming event, Mancunian Perspectives, as part of RNCM's New Music North
West Festival. Composers Aled Smith, Lucy Armstrong, Shaun Davies and Steve Kilpatrick have been
commissioned to produce work for septet with optional electronics (see below). They have been given a
simple brief – to relate their work to our great city of Manchester!
The event will take place at the Digital Performance Lab within Salford University's MediaCity UK Campus.
The building is next door to Dockyard, and two across from the BBC, and is most accessible via metrolink
(MediaCity UK stop). There are also parking facilities at a cost, and free parking available a 5-minute walk away on Michigan Avenue.
